About Us
Welcome to Locals Trail! We are so thankful you are here and looking to learn a little more about our story. We are a small business that is focused on creating products that are heartfelt and meaningful for our customers. In a world that is filled with gift cards, we hope to provide a creative and thoughtful experience to all that cross our “trail”!
How It Started
Derek and Taylor
The idea behind our business all started in 2020, around a campfire with a bourbon in our hand. We love hosting around the holidays and the pandemic posed a challenge to our festive get-togethers. During this time, my bourbon collection was growing faster than I was able to share it with my friends and family. To still be able to share pours virtually and celebrate our favorite time of the year, we decided to make customized bourbon advent calendars out of pallets. This process was incredibly inefficient but with the spare time in 2020 – it made all the sense in the world to us. As we looked into ways to increase our efficiency to make these gifts – we did not realize the world of opportunities it would open for us.

As our calendars are only gifts for our friends and family, we thought others would like to join in on the fun with their own collection! By sharing our daily bourbon reviews, it has allowed thousands of folks in the community to connect and share their thoughts on the featured bourbon. After 2 years of breaking down pallets for our calendars, we decided to invest into a CNC machine to make our process more efficient and provide a more aesthetic gift. This investment has allowed us to open so many doors and we are excited for the creative products that we will be adding to our store here in the near future!
As for now – we have a trademark in the application process for our Bourbon Trail logo and have merch available in our shop!
Locals Trail
In 2022, we decided to take our hobby from DB’s Bourbon Trail to the next step and create our own company: Locals Trail LLC. As we plan to have multiple entities and affiliates over the next few years, Locals Trail will serve as our “home” company.
We believe no matter what "trail" you are on at this moment, we are here to provide a product that makes our customers feel right at home as a Local would. Within the upcoming year, we plan to have a store full of unique products that will be perfect gift for our customers. In addition to our store, we plan to provide design services to help bring your idea to life!
Currently, we are excited to announce that we have a patent-pending product in development, which we aim to bring to market soon. As we continue to expand, grow, and invest, we are hoping you are here with us every step up the way!
