Cheers and welcome to our 5th Annual Advent Calendar!
This month, we’re embarking on a high-end bourbon journey, reviewing 25 bourbons from award-winning distilleries across the United States. From December 1st to December 25th, we’ll explore everything from small batches to single barrels, all packed with flavor. Join us in toasting to another incredible year as we share some of our favorite bottles with you!
Our reviews are done using a Glencairn glass and neat, but remember, it’s your bourbon! Enjoy it however you like—over ice, with water, or in a cocktail. The key is to enjoy it your way and not let others influence your experience.
Enough of me rambling. Now, let’s dive into what brought us here!

Review:
Rebel 10 Year Single Barrel Bourbon is crafted with wheat as the secondary grain instead of rye, classifying it as a wheated bourbon. Aged for a decade and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), it boasts a rich and intricate flavor profile, distinguishing itself in the competitive single barrel market.
Nose:
The nose is incredibly inviting. Berries are cherries are so dominant to start this pour. As I dig a little deeper into the pour I get great notes notes of butterscotch and leather. The nose of this really, really shines!
Palate:
Buckle Up. This one takes you for a ride! Initially you get a quick sweet burst from the berries and cherries. That is followed by a cinnamon and nutmeg spice that is battling with a brown sugar and vanilla sweetness.
Finish:
The finish is robust, with charred oak and cinnamon spice taking hold of it. It’s long and leaving you with a great Kentucky hug.
Final Thoughts:
This is definitely one of the more unique flavor profiles that is in the calendar. I really believe it is due to it being a wheated bourbon aged 10 years. If you are looking for a bottle that’s going to stand out against the rest - this is a bottle you definitely want to consider!
Cheers y’all! 🥃
